Jenson Button has won the Malaysian grand prix after the race was suspended due to adverse weather conditions. Button was in the lead behind the safety car when racing was stopped during the 33rd lap as torrential rain and thunderstorms rendered the Sepang circuit too dangerous to race on. With the drivers unable to resume racing due to the conditions and falling darkness, half-points were awarded to those drivers in the leading eight positions when the race was brought to its premature conclusion. Button takes five points for his second successive grand prix win, while BMW's Nick Heidfeld and Toyota's Timo Glock were awarded second and third-place finishes respectively with four and three points each.
